Shop Local - ON ETSY!

Being the crafty gal that I am (or try like hell to be) I am constantly on the lookout for new things that others are making for me to take a stab at. One of my favorite places to look is ETSY.

Not only does it give me ideas, but it opens up a whole new marketplace for crafters and those who don't craft to shop. It gives stay at home moms, students, etc., to sell and share their wares for a little extra spending money. Everyone I've seen here is extremely talented.

And. . . . (my English teacher is having a fit right now) - you can put in a state, zip, etc., and actually shop from sellers locally.

Check out this fabulous artist from Urbandale, Iowa.
Now, tell me this wouldn't look cute in a little ones room or better yet - my kids' playroom! If you'd like to take a look at her stuff - you should go here: Emrick123
Happy Shopping!

My Tuesday Toot!

Todays toot for Tuesday isn't anything on my to do list, but I helped out my family with theirs! They are busy with a big inspection in the next day or so at the Goat Dairy. It seems the gentlemen from France who put their label on the products made from the dairy/creamery have trekked to the U.S. to see where their product comes from. This means the dairy gets a good cleaning and polished up nicely!
I'm not much of a farm girl, (never said I wasn't willing to learn!) so I went over to watch my neice and they ended up putting me to work in the barn. I climbed in the goat pens and bedded them, with a smile, while being accosted from the back. Those little shits will jump on your back while you have it turned to them. So, I spent most of my time with my back to the walls, the only problem there is that I fear getting head-butted.
So, all in all I did get to spend time with my neice, made lunch, and got accosted today.
Not bad for my Tuesday Toot!

WTF????

Apparently, some dudes who think they are fashion designers, Viktor + Rolf have a gallery where they showcase "15 years worth of their most memorable fashion designs by creating 2 foot tall doll replicas to mimic their real life fashion originals all housed in a dollhouse within the gallery."

Why?

Why in sam hell replicate this shit?

Who decided this was fashion?

Why?

Who?

Wow.

It's a fresh idea . . .

(not my penis rocket - this is playdoughs version)
I am creative. I really am. Lots and lots and lots of creativity bottled up in this blubbery body. Unfortunately, none of has to do with playdough.

My kids, now their creative when it comes to the little blobs of color and they have lots of "fresh ideas" as PlayDough puts it.

I am not.

So, I'm working away and my almost 4 yo asks me to make him a rocket ship out of PD.

Um, yeah. Right-o.

I take eh - about 10 minutes and whip him up a half-assed rocket ship just to make him happy. Dude, he is on cloud 9. Thinks it is the greatest thing in the world and looks at me with those "my mommy is greatest thing in the world - she can do anything" eyes. The look that I strive for daily, hell - let's make it hourly at least.

PENIS.

The rocket ship looks like a penis.

Not deliberate. Purple base, blue cylinder, red top, with little orange flames coming out the bottom.

I'm done with the playdough.

He's asking me to make an airplane.

That doesn't look like a penis.

I won! I won!

Let me just start this cheery little post of with I NEVER WIN ANYTHING! Thanks to Wendy over at Iowa Moms I am taking my family to see Disney On Ice this Thursday night! We're taking the kids to meet up with Heather and Emery at Red Robin for some eats then over to the US Cellular Center!

The kids have been asking me every day if it's about time for Disney On Ice! LOL. I think they are excited.

Thanks Wendy!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO ME, ER . .. US!

9 years baby!  9 years of . . . wedded bliss or some screwed up shit as they say.  They've had their ups and their downs, but we're still here and happy.

Most of the time.

The one where I get puked on . . .

at 2:36 a.m. by a 3-1/2 year old. Right on time! That's how I tell when school is officially underway, when we all get sick right out of the shoot.

We've all got colds and I thought he did too, but bah what do I know. Gave him some medicine and stuck him in our bed so the little dear could get some sleep. But, don't let the heavy breathing fool you to thinking the medicine is doing it's job and making him feel better to sleep. Nah, it's only letting things churn awhile longer so when the puke comes up it's nice and chunky!

We stripped our bed. He took a bath. We slept on the couch. Hubs went to work. DS7 went to school. I cancelled my advisory committee meetings at school for today and probably scout registration for tonight.

Looks like it's gonna be a fun week. I figure I'll get the pukes just in time to eat my anniversary dinner.

Anyone know of a resturaunt where you can rent your food?

Monday, September 15

Stop this rollercoaster . . .

and let me get my ass off - paleeze!

Today I went to moms after working awhile and we canned spaghetti sauce for 4 hours!
Tonight, soccer.
Tomorrow, meeting at school + cub scout registration.
Wednesday, soccer.
Thursday, our anniversary, cub scout leader meeting (if I go - after all it is wedded bliss we're talkin' about here!)
Friday, breathe.

I'm cranky . . .

because I've got too much to do.  So what to do first, hmmm . . . . sit down and give the blog a facelift, organize my swaps, and phone my husband with the grocery order.  DS7 has a friend over for the day and the 3 of the boys are playing nicely together.

Which works great so I can figure out what the hell I want, no - NEED to do first.

Meh- maybe something more earth shattering later.

Pioneer Woman . . .

ROCKS!  If you haven't visited her website yet, you need to do that.  I was going through her recipe archives last night and made a hella yummy supper - my husband actually said "kinda like eating at Outback!"
I made balsamic glazed pork chops, bourbon baked beans, and these:

Cheese Muffins (there's 3 cups of Colby Jack in these babies!)

Crash Hot Potatoes - OMFG - these are to die for;  and last but not least - ONION STRINGS!
Yes, it was a lot of work, but dang it was good and best part is I have leftovers for tonight which is perfect because it's soccer night!

Thanks Pioneer Woman & my husband thanks you too!.
