Daddy needs a boat

* a little insight in what is about to happen (daddy is upstairs in the master bathroom jacuzzi tub taking a bath because were are installing a new surround in our everyday bathroom downstairs - which is a whole story in itself for another day).

DS3 comes running downstairs "Mommy, daddy needs a boat." Thinking for some odd reason he meant a big cup or something to use to wash his hair I asked him "a what?" He says again "a boat, daddy needs a boat."

He proceeds to go in the bathroom closet and pulls out his inflatable jet boat and runs it upstairs to daddy.

It was so stinkin' cute.

I guess it goes to show you that you are only as old as you feel and your never to old to float a boat in the bath!

Time out for . . .

blogger/google turdiness. Nice. I had storage/picture issues and it's giving me wonky errors and telling me I may have to wait 24 hours. It's special to say the least. I have things to say dangit. Important, earth-shattering, tell-all, can't-live-without-knowing-ish things to say.

But it won't let me. If I want to add pictures anyway - and what's a post without pictures - I'm visual. I'm a talking-with-my-hands kind of gal. . . . I can't live without visual aids.

Damn you wonky error message. I can honestly say it's not the user.

I'm sure the 2 people who read this are sitting at the edge of their seats waiting for my moving post to be.

Addendum will follow. . . .

I AM COVETING

these cooking gadgets:

The Produce Cleaning Net is designed to make it quick and easy to wash your fruits and vegetables. While collanders can be inefficient at washing, and bulky, this cleaning net is designed to soak in the sink with your product. When done, simply lift and drain.

How groovy is that for all the great summer produce coming our way!

AND THIS

Ice Cream Scoop & Stack
Ice cream can be gourmet if you give it a kick on the presentation side. This Ice Cream Scoop & Stack does just that. It makes it possible to cut through hard ice cream and pull out cylindrical blocks of ice cream that you can then stack in a cone or a dish. No melting prior to presenting.
I can faintly hear the cries of the pink one calling my name. . .
I found these and more wonderful cooking gadget reviews at:
There are sooo many wonderful items that could make life cute, fun, and easier!

Today's agenda is

pretty boring; work (done), color hair (done), floors, laundry (done), dishes (done), bake chocolate chip cookies (done), get some things ready to mail, straighten toy room, finish C3s bedroom, clean C7s bedroom, clean my bedroom, sort through clothes that are winter and don't fit. Sounds exhilirating! (erm, not so much.) But, if I can get most of that accomplished I will be rewarding myself with some sewing. Updated: Meh, still rewarding with some sewing, but all thats done is all thats getting done (for today anyway.)

I feel so bad

for the people dealing with this devestation. So, so sad. These were taken by an area resident and are arial shots of Elkader, Iowa. The one above is business district and the one below is residential.

I'm a little tired because . . .

this is where I have spent my mornings this week! On our Friendship Trek at Vacation Bible School. I taught C7's class - he had 9 others in his 1st grade group. It was such a nice sized class with such wonderfully enthusiastic kids! It was hit and miss and unfortunately Monday was a miss for me as Hwy 52 in Millville was closed and I missed the day! We had a great time and today was the final day!

My laugh of the day was while we were praying as a group - I was watching the preschoolers and one little girl said "Thank you Lord for being our Saber." - I know Darth Vader and his gang weren't invited and I'm pretty sure she meant Savior, but I can't tell you how big of a belly laugh I got when I saw her say that! It was really cute and I'm sure the Lord thought so too! LOL.

All in all it was a great week with yummy snacks and fun activities!

I'm so excited . . .

because I just got my swapee's details for the Favorite Things Swap! SHE HAS 2 LITTLE BOYS TOO! How fun! My boys are going to love picking their favorite things out to send Ashlie's little boys! I've looked at her blog Hendricks Gang and know a few things about her but I am definately going to have to pick her brain a little bit to find the "perfect" things for her - I know what I like and they are supposed to be my favorites which they will be - but there's no harm in making sure it is something she will like! I think the boys will have a blast too! It was suggested to send 3 things, but man I have so many - I don't think I can stop at 3 - I think I'm going to have to send her a "big ol' box" of swappy goodness!

Today I realized . . . .

that I am a potty-mouthed stitcher. I was finishing up my not-working-quite-as-I-wanted-it-to-but-came-out-lovely-anyway apron to put in the mail for the summer apron swap tomorrow. Wait until you see it! Ugh - i'm so very proud for my first other-than-squarish-shaped sewing project! WooHoo for me! In the midst of this sewing project I caught myself swearing like a sailor! I'm not a pinner by nature, but I realized with this project that pinning is definately necessary, especially when doing projects with straight edges and projects for others! Gah! As the pins are sticking me left and right (or should I say as I am sticking myself with pins) I find myself cursing! OUT LOUD!

Yeah, that has to stop.

Got me some PINK!

Found me some pink! I'm lovin' it! Made by the wonderful Lena over at Simply Fabulous Blog Templates! (Shhh . . . the best part is, they are FREE! Yes, I know, really, FREE!) There are sooo many I loved and that alone gives me a good reason to change up the blog on a regular basis. She's very talented and generous! Those of us looking for something out of the ordinary can check her out for blog grooviness! Thanks Lena - high 5!

Just for the record . . .

I AM STILL ALL ABOUT THE PINK.

There are so many templates for blogger - and so far I haven't found any that I am totally smitten with. So I went with this one. Do I like it, yes. Do I love it, NO. Must find pink.

Yes I know I have 2 boys - and the blog is about MOM and Company, but - I am still the mom, I am still the only female in my home (aside from the multitude of pets), and I still love pink. I am the boss. I will find pink.

Standby . . . .

Clearing the air. . .

is something that clearly needs to be done. I'm not sure who's idea it is to let the kids out of school and then proclaim RAIN for the next entire week! We have no NOAH. He does not live here. We are not Ark building folk, although I think it would certainly keep my otherwise bored 'out of his mind' 7 year old quite busy. Not to mention how entertaining the 'two by twos' would be! At first I was excited because my puny little garden was growing, and growing, and growing. Enough already. I'm all about fresh veggies, but I don't need them in record time or anything. I AM NOT STARVING. I AM NOT SKINNY, I HAVE A BADONK-A-DONK BUTT. IF THAT IS YOUR REASON FOR BLESSING US WITH THE DOWNPOUR OF THE CENTURY THANK YOU, BUT ENOUGH WITH THE RAIN. HAVE A NICE DAY.

Summer Apron Swap

I am in an EXCITING swap that Abby is hosting. I have never done a sewing swap before and I am sooooo excited - I love the fabric I've got for my partners apron - it's hella yummy! I was supposed to put a linky on my blog for Abby and I have been so behind with school ending this last week and trying to get boys shorts sewn and teacher's gifts sewn that I didn't get it done.

So here it is - click for the details! "A Feathered Nest"!

Because . . .

wordpress is hard. It really isn't I know. But. . . it was hard for me. I have tried for the last 'while' to move over to wordpress. Blogger is just an out for me - a REALLY easy out. I know blogger. I know my way around it and can function for the most part in Blogger. Not wordpress. Which makes me sad, I so wanted to be friends wordpress. Alas, we part. Maybe to meet another day. Maybe.

Bad Bad Blogger!

I am a bad blogger. I have promised several chickies that I would get my blog back up to snuff, keep it current, and give it some crafty love. So, I am trying. Gah - life is too busy! But, I will give it my best!

I will need to do a lot of updating soon. New look, new stuff, new pictures, and new crafty friends! It's all good baby, it's all good!
